PRESSED to create a better living environment for the populace, Lagos authorities have commenced the review of Ikeja model city plan, which became operative in year 2010.

In a statement signed by the Director Public Affair, Ministry for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ajao Mutair, the review of the plan was to ascertain the level of compliance with the provisions of the plan and improve on its gains.

According to the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development Mr. Wasiu Anifowoshe, a town planner, the exercise would involve among others, the evaluation of the level of performance in the area of infrastructural provision, conflicts associated with land uses, transportation, sanitation, security, housing, population, recreation and tourism.

He urged traditional heads, community leaders, residents, traders, corporate organizations and civil societies in and around Ikeja to cooperate with the government officials and all others that would be involved in the exercise particularly at it concerns the administration of questionnaire, interactive sessions with the public and other assessment approaches that may be adopted.
