The governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, has cautioned those pointing fingers at him to desist from such act, saying that those who fought him wrongly during their administration, ended up been defeated.

The governor said former presidents Umaru Musa Yardua fought him and he ended up in the grave, while Goodluck Jonathan was defeated in 2015 elections.

El-Rufai made the statement while addressing the All Progressive Congress (APC) stakeholders meeting at Murtala Square in Kaduna. He called for togetherness of party members and Kaduna indigenes at large, irrespective of religious, social-cultural and political differences in the state, adding that in all ramifications, his utmost priority is to make it a developed and successful state.

His words: “As a human being, I know that I can not avoid offending people, one will definitely will, this is because there is no how you can be in governance without making mistake. In the process of mending someone’s life, another person might think you are inflicting pain on him.

“So I want you people to tell me what my offences are, so that I can adjust. If I know my offence, I will definitely apologise, but should someone accuse me wrongly, ‘Go and ask Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, ask Jonathan, they were once President of this country, one ended up in the grave, another ended up in Otuoke.”

“I’m not afraid of fighting, once I know I have done nothing wrong, and I didn’t offend you, but should someone say I offend him, I swear to Almighty God, I will ask for his forgiveness.

“As for you the political stakeholders of Kaduna, am seizing this gathering opportunity to apologize from the bottom of my heart, if I or any of my subordinate offended you, we are very sorry.”
