Contrary to speculations that the Taraba State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been factionalised, as a result of internal crisis, the party’s leadership has described the rumour as false.

Explaining that the upheaval that would have torn the party apart had been put to rest by the party’s reconciliation committee chairman, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the leadership said: “The party is presently intact and working as a team to wrestle power from Taraba PDP come 2019.”

The party state chairman, Alhaji Sani Chul, who made this known, yesterday, at Sabo-Ginda, in Gassol Local Government Area, where he received over 1000 decampees from the PDP, said the party would continue to promote internal democracy among its members. He said: “Both those, who came in today and those, who have been in the party since its inception are all equal.”

Represented by the state deputy chairman, Elder John Maigari, he said APC in the state and in the country would continue to “fly above all other political parties, especially the main opposition party (PDP).”The decampees publicly denounced PDP, while tearing their PDP membership cards.
