GOVERNOR Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has pledged to work with the members of the state House of Assembly to ensure sustainable development of the state.

He made this known in Sokoto yesterday when he opened a three-day post inaugural workshop organised for the 30 newly elected lawmakers.

The workshop was organised by the state government in conjunction with non-governmental organisation, Leadership, Empowerment, Advocacy and Development (LEAD).

“Government is about collective responsibility by all the tiers of government and other stakeholders for the best interest of the people. We must, therefore, muster the courage and commit ourselves to the selfless service of the people to provide the needed social services to the people,” Tambuwal said.

The governor said the workshop could not come at a better time than now, considering the need to ensure vibrant legislations aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s greatly nurtured democratic ideals.
