PDP wins state assembly’s bye-election in Gombe

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State, has won the bye-election into the state House of Assembly, conducted on Saturday.

The bye-election was to fill the vacuum created by Gambo Kabade, representing Dukku North Constituency, who died on June 29, 2017.

Announcing the result early yesterday, the Returning Officer, Prof. Mohammed Sani Sa’idu said the PDP candidate, Sa’idu Kawuwa Malala polled 7,060 to defeat six other contestants.

The results of three polling units in Malala ward were cancelled, following the total number of votes casted exceeding the number of accredited voters.
