A businessman and indigene of Onitsha, Comrade Ezennia Melvin Udo Richmond, from Umudei, Odoakpu Ward 1 in Anambra State, has led over 300 of his supporters from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

“WE chose to join hands with Working Willie to ensure Anambra remains safe,” they said at the ceremony.

Udo is the Managing Director Melvorich Nig Ltd., which firm is into Real Estate, Facility Management, Building and General Contracts.

Hon. Tom Imafidon, a seasoned politician from Edo State, who accompanied Udo donated an electricity generator to Odoakpu Ward 1 Secretariat.

In his introductory remarks, the member representing Onitsha South 2 Constituency, Chief Mrs. Beverly Ifeanyi Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche, who acknowledged Udo as a relation, disclosed that the latter was wooed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to run on its ticket “in any capacity of his choice in the northern part of the country, but he Ezennia declined because of his firm belief that APGA is the only true party for a true Igbo man, and the only party that gives Ndi Igbo a sense of true belonging in the political landscape of Nigeria.”

Lawmakers and APGA state officials were among those who received the defectors.
