Obasanjo’s coalition can’t stop PDP in 2019, says Akoro

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for Ethiope Federal consistency, Deacon Enoh Akoro, has dismissed insinuations that former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s coalition for Nigerian Movement would defeat the party in 2019.
  
A statement by his media consultant, Nejuvie Ibru in Warri yesterday, Akoro stated that former President Obasanjo has no credentials to midwife a third force to salvage Nigeria from its current challenges owing to his undemocratic and anti-people policies when he was in power.
   
“Here was a man who wanted a third term at all cost and in the process wasted billion of tax payers’ money in an attempt to compromise the National Assembly to alter the Constitution but failed,” Akoro stated.

According to him, the PDP had learnt it lessons and was doing everything possible to take over the reigns of power in 2019, as the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed to perform.
  
He restated that as long as the moles in PDP could not decimate the party through Modu Sheriff, the party was now stronger, reliable and dependable to deliver on its promises to Nigerians without repeating the mistakes of the past.

“History beckons on the Prince Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee (NWC) to provide leadership and lead the PDP to a resounding victory in 2019 to show our commitment to strong enduring ideals and principles that Nigerians have known the PDP for over the years,” he added.

The House of Representatives hopeful commended the efforts of Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for steering the state to a new era of growth and development, noting that the PDP has come to stay in Delta.
