Kano trains 250 youths on ICT
KANO State government has trained 250 youth under an empowerment programme on Information Communication and Technology (ICT) and social media networking, in collaboration with Zynox Nigeria Limited.
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, disclosed during the graduation ceremony of the beneficiaries at Africa House, Government House, Kano that, “The programme is based on the role of ICT and social networking in modern day communication and information sharing with a view to make our youth cope with modern day technology challenges and become self-reliant.”
Adding that, “With the advent of ICT and its subsequent positive impact on our society, it becomes imperative for any serious minded government and individuals to accord due premium to this era of vital communication revolution.”
He further disclosed that the state government spent over N300 million in the training and empowerment scheme. Earlier, the Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sport and Culture, Muhammad Garba, disclosed that the training was one in the series of similar programmes for youth empowerment in the state.
Garba assured them that the government would engage more youth in the training programme. All the beneficiaries were each given a set of laptop computer and accessories.
