Following the ongoing nationwide strike by resident doctors, the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) and the Assembly of Healthcare Professional Associations (AHPA) has sought the intervention of Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, in the prolonged demands and agitations between JOHESU and the Federal Government since 2014 by granting them audience before the end of this month to avert indefinite industrial action in the health industry.

In a statement signed by JOHESU National President, Biobelemoye Joy Josiah, and national Secretary, Ekpebor Florence, the union, which constitutes 95 per cent of health workers and healthcare providers, while acknowledging the sensitive and important nature of members’ service to human lives, urged the senate president to intervene, just like he did during the medical doctor’s strike.
