The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has told Governor Ayodele Fayose to stop brainwashing the people on the fresh N4.7 billion he received as the second tranche of the Paris Club refund. It said the meetings he currently holds with workers and other stakeholders was a ploy to deceive them before allegedly diverting the money.

In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, the party said the people could no longer fall for such trick aimed at denying the workers their salaries.

In a swift reaction, Fayose described the allegation as mischievous.A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, said: “We would not have joined issue with the APC and their leaders who have been blinded by partisan politics, but for the sake of the good people of Ekiti who love their governor and appreciate his love for them too.”

However, the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has enjoined the Kano State government to make judicious use of the N10 billion it got. It also called for the inauguration of an inclusive committee to monitor its disbursement.

The state NLC chairman, Comrade Kabiru Ado Minjibir, made the demands while addressing newsmen yesterday in Kano. But the Commissioner for Finance, Prof. Kabiru Isa Dandago, reminded the union that the distribution of the fund was at the discretion of government.

Besides, The Ondo State government has confirmed a receipt of N 7,003, 648, 314, 28.The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Segun Ajiboye, said the fund would be judiciously used to offset salary arrears.

Also yesterday, Governor Rochas Okorocha said Imo State got N7 billion as its share. In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, the governor denied any rift within the APC fold in the state.
