Complete federal projects in Kano, Ganduje urges Buhari
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano has urged the Federal Government to complete abandoned federal projects in the state. Ganduje, who made the call during an interactive session between community leaders and the president at Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, also called on the government to reconstruct the Kano-Abuja federal highway.
Regretting that the road has recorded a lot traffic accidents and loss of commuters’ lives, Ganduje said: “Our people are always afraid of using the road. Many of our businesses are suffering because of its bad condition. We are requesting the completion of abandoned federal government projects in the state because such projects are important for the development of the state.”
Other projects mentioned by Ganduje included Western Bypass and resuscitation of the Ghari Irrigation Project. The governor expressed satisfaction with the Federal Government’s strides in the state’s agricultural sector. He disclosed that the anchor-borrower scheme was yielding dividends for farmers and the state. He also urged the government to help make the state’s dream of establishing the Kano State Seeds Development Company a reality.
