Boroffice declares ambition for Ondo guber poll

AS this year’s governorship race gathers momentum in Ondo State, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Science and Technology, Senator Robert Ajayi Boroffice (OON) has declared his ambition to govern the state increasing the aspirants to over 30 so far.

AS this year’s governorship race gathers momentum in Ondo State, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Science and Technology, Senator Robert Ajayi Boroffice (OON) has declared his ambition to govern the state increasing the aspirants to over 30 so far.

Boroffice who declared his intention under the aegis of All Progressives Congress party (APC) reaffirmed his commitment to the betterment of the people of Ondo State if eventually elected as governor of the state.

He made the declaration in Akure at a dinner organised in his honour to celebrate his achievements as a tested technocrat and distinguished politician promised to take the state to greater heights.

Senator Boroffice, an erudite scholar and scientist commended the organisers of the event and expressed gratitude to various journalists who had been supportive of him over the years.

He implored them to continue to carry out their work with all diligence for the progress and development of the Nigerian polity and Ondo state in particular.

Boroffice used the medium to reaffirm his avowed commitment towards the development and service not only to his constituents but also to the people in the central and northern districts of the state.

This, he noted would be impossible without the support of members of the Fourth Estate of the realm, which he described as crucial to the development, progress of any society, state or nation.

He, however, asked members of the press to join hands with him towards the realization of a dream state, as he pursues his mission to serve in higher capacity for the betterment of the people.

Senator Boroffice described Ondo state as highly blessed in view of the abundant human and natural resources in the sunshine state, promising to effect meaningful development through the change policy and crusade of his party, the APC.

He promised to bring his wealth of experience as technocrat and politician to bear to giving the state a new sense of direction in order to make it the true sunshine state of Nigeria.

The legislator who described the people of Ondo state as peace-loving, urged them to come out en masse to support his bid to preside over the affairs of the state in the coming governorship election.

Senator Boroffice, who is the Asiwaju of Akokoland described his close interactions with royal fathers as well as people at the grassroot as one that have placed him in a vantage position to know the plights of the people in various nooks and crannies of the state.

He assured that no stone would be left unturned until the noble and developmental dreams of the state were achieved if elected as the Governor of the state in the forthcoming elections.

James Sowoloe, the Ondo State council chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, described Boroffice as an illustrious son of the state and a good friend of the press.

He acknowledged Boroffice’s past support for the state council of NUJ, saying members would continue to appreciate him for his contributions over the years.

Similarly, a former National Vice President of NUJ, Dele Atunbi thanked Boroffice, saying his support of the union will continue to remain a reference point in the history of the council.
