Anambra guber race: Aspirant promises sovereign wealth fund, infrastructure
One of the contestants of tomorrow’s primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ufodike Akolisa has promised to establish a $1 billion Sovereign Wealth Fund in Anambra State specifically for infrastructural development and to attract local and foreign investments.
He said his wealth of experience in the private sector would benefit Anambra as a state and Nigeria in general, having worked as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer in one of the biggest companies in Canada.
“At present, I sit on the board of Nigeria–Canada Chamber of Commerce as a founding member and I used my position to broker a trade relations between Nigeria and Canada between 2012 and 2013.”
