Governors’ convoys

Sir: I was recently in a commercial vehicle that was harried off the road by the convoy of the Governor of Zamfara State presumably on their way to pick up their principal from the airport.

However, what was really annoying about the convoy was the number of vicious looking gun-totting policemen in the entourage.

This is from a state whose citizens are presently under siege by armed bandits.

Why are all these policemen attached to one man?

Why can’t these “brave road warriors” be deployed to the forests of Zamfara State to flush out the bandits.

The governor should be ashamed of himself that he has so many idle policemen in Abuja while his people are at the mercy of bandits.

These road warriors who chase cars from the road like a butcher chases away flies from meat are not worthy to wear any uniform of an armed force or wield any weapons, since they are content to hide in Abuja and be non combatant drivers and bag carriers.
