Youths Call For Paradigm Change In National Leadership

BYO-LEADERSHIP-SEMINAR-2Rising from its maiden leadership seminar, tagged ‘The Paradigm of Change’, the Buhari Youth Organisation (BYO), Lagos chapter, has call on the paradigm change in the nation’s leadership structure to accommodate more youth in the scheme of leadership.

According to the group, the leadership seminar was aimed at imbuing in members the key character ethics and discipline to raise young leaders in the mould of the principal of the Buhari Youth Organisation, President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking at the event, a key speaker, Mr. Demilade Olaosun, implored participants on the need to choose a mentor in moulding the desired discipline life of a leader, drop the entitlement mentality of the average young Nigerian, support government and join hands in the task of nation building.

Also speaking at the seminar, Mr. Adebowale Ojekale, gave an analytical process of the dynamics of change and creative methods for problem solving both in a group and the nation at large.

In her remark, the National Vice President of the group, Mrs. Lucy Ajayi, implored youths to effectively manage crisis at the different levels of their life engagement, stressing that great leaders are raised through moments of crisis and youths must not shy away from challenges but rise through them and achieve their life dreams.

Lagos State coordinator of the group, Comrade AbdulWaheed Odunuga, enjoined all youths to no longer see themselves as leaders of tomorrow but leaders of today, adding that it is time to accept responsibilities in building the Nigeria of their dream. He also challenged the leadership of the nation at all levels to ensure that the true dividend of democracy is delivered to the teeming masses as promised.

Meanwhile, the national leadership of the group, admonished the members to live by the aims and objectives of BYO, work to support a united group, support the ideals and aspiration of the principal, President Buhari, and collaborate with all other youths across the nation in building a socio-political system devoid of hate, greed and corruption.

The event had in attendance, representatives from the Presidency; all the leadership structures of the group at the State and across the 20 Local Government Areas, as well as national figures of the Buhari Youth Organisation, including the representative of the Chairman, Board of Trustee, Mr. Yusuf Nalado, National Patron, Dr. R.C. Ihuoma, and National Secretary, Engr. Garuba.
