Wike seeks British support on security, agric
GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has called on the British government to support his administration in its quest to improve the security of lives and property.
He also sought assistance for his commercial agriculture programme targeted at job creation.
Wike, who spoke yesterday in Port Harcourt during a courtesy visit by the British Deputy High Commissioner in Nigeria, Ray Kyle, said: “One of the key areas we need the support of the British Government is in the area of security. We need collaboration to improve our security.
“So far, we have provided logistics support for the security agencies and enacted legislation to discourage kidnapping and other crimes,” he solicited.
The governor noted that with actions taken so far by his administration, security had improved with several investors returning to the state.
