VSF disburses N4m, 800 livestock to Yobe households
The Victims Support Fund (VSF) has given N4 million and 800 livestock to 200 households of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Yobe.
The households were drawn from Hausari, Ashekari, Kolori and Geidam communities. Launching the Livelihoods Agricultural Support Scheme (LAGRISS) at the weekend, the Executive Director of VSF, Prof. Sunday Ochoche said the project was designed to guarantee medium to long-term food security and livelihoods for Boko Haram victims displaced by insurgency for about three years now in the North East.
He said in implementing the pilot livestock project, VSF collaborated with Yobe State FADAMA III project to provide routine veterinary services to the benefiting households for a year.
The veterinary service, according to him, will guarantee the health of the livestock and increase their productivity for more income.
