Luck ran out on five persons, as they lost their lives in an explosion while trying to vandalise a crude oil pipeline in Bayelsa.

A source confided in The Guardian that the victims were found by indigenes on February 25, 2018 in the creeks of Azagbene, Ekeremor Local Government Council of the state.

The men had tried to burst the pipeline using dynamites.

“The indigenes heard the sound of the explosion. It was followed by fire. But in the morning, when they went to the scene, they found two dead bodies and three others badly burnt,” he said.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Asinim Butswat, said the matter had not been officially reported to him, but promised to get back with further details.
