The University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) has called off its two weeks old strike following an agreement between the union and management of the hospital.

A statement issued yesterday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, by the Public Relations Officer of the UITH, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Omojasola, stated that the doctors resolved to defend their ‘Hippocratic Oath’ by saving lives rather than shunning duties just as the management has decided to critically review some of the issues that prompted the strike.

“The management team led by the Chief Medical Director of the UITH, Professor Abdulwaheed Olatinwo and the President of the local chapter of the ARD, Dr. Adegboyega Faponle, reached an agreement, which led to calling off of the strike.”
