A prominent Delta Lawyer, Chief Mudi Ehrenede, has expressed surprise at the level of infrastructure development in Ebonyi State within the past two years, saying that “Governor David Umahi has redefined Ebonyi with projects.”

Speaking to The Guardian against the background of two years of the administration in Ebonyi, Ehrenede, who practices law in Afikpo, noted that although he had initial misgivings that the governor could deliver on the mandate, “I must say I am surprised at the level of development in the past two years.”

The lawyer, who was legal adviser to Dr. Sam Egwu, explained that since 1999, he had not witnessed the kind of coordinated approach to development, pointing out that Umahi had been able to marshal a new governance paradigm through human and material development.

“I must give you an honest assessment, Governor Umahi has been able through quiet diplomacy resolved inter and intra-clan squabbles and built peace. On the basis of that enduring peace, he has ensured equitable distribution of amenities and appointments, thereby carrying everybody along,” Erhenede stated.
