Tunji Braithwaite is dead
A former presidential candidate of National Advanced Party (NAP) and foremost lawyer, Dr. Tunji Braithwaite, is dead.
Braithwaite died this morning at St Nicholas Hospital, after a brief illness. He was 82.
Braithwaite was born in 1933, the seventh of eight children. He was educated at C.M.S Grammar School, Lagos,from where he proceeded to the London University at Kennington College in 1955 for his A Levels certificate.
He enrolled in 1957/58 as a Law student at the Council of Legal Education, London. He was admitted into Lincoln’s Inn that same year and graduated as a barrister in 1960.
Braithwaite was called to the bar in 1961 and founded the Nigeria Advanced Party in 1978.
