In view of the rot and neglect of secondary schools, the Taraba State Chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), has called for the establishment of a Teaching Service Commission.

Speaking at the World Teachers Day (WTD) ceremony, the ASUSS State Chairman, Prince Sule Abasu, said it would herald the much-needed development and accelerate the country’s education sector.

For parents to conveniently send their children and ward to good public schools without fear of discrimination, ASUSS, he said demands a humane educational atmosphere where there is no ceiling on academic prosperity.

Identifying promotion as one of the key factors that encourage teachers to put in their best, he admonished the state government to help in promoting secondary school teachers when due.
