Tanker-fire--CopyAN accident involving a truck laden with diesel along Aba-Owerri road in Abayi area of Aba yesterday morning resulted in a fire that razed about seven vehicles, three commercial tricycles and residential buildings situated around the vicinity.

A report credited to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Aba Sector, said no life was lost and anybody sustained body injuries.

It was gathered that when the truck was trying to drive into a filling station along the road to discharge its contents when the part bearing the fuel fell off from the rest of the body.

It was learnt that it was the heat from the exhaust pipe that ignited the fire, which would have caused more havoc but for the timely arrival of men of the Abia State Fire Service.
