PRESIDENT of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria (CIPSMN), Diekola Oyewo, has advocated strict implementation of the nation’s procurement policy as a way of tackling treasury looting.

Speaking in Abuja during the 2015 induction of new members at the weekend, Oyewo explained that inflation of prices of materials supplied, work, forging of receipt and storage, among other fraudulent practices, would be completely eliminated through the full implementation of the policy.

According to him, “some government officials capitalise on the lapses in implementing the policy to resell government property through cronies for personal gains. The most fertile ground where corruption flourishes is the procurement and supply chain management.
