THE National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), South West, Zone D has distanced itself from a planned solidarity protest by its national body in relation to the on-going trial of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

In a statement signed by its Coordinator, Comrade Okikiola Ogunsola, a copy of which was made available to The Guardian, NANS said as an ideological zone that has so much respect for its national body, it would not in any way subject itself to any act by its national body that tends to undermine or coerce rule of law from taking its place.

“We are stating in strong term that our zone is not in support of the planned protest by the civil society group under the aegies of Heritage Centre and NANS.
