Speaker warns civil servants in Osun against partisan politics
Salaam, who gave the warning at the assembly’s plenary session in Osogbo on Friday, said it was worrisome to see involvement of some workers in partisan politics.
He said the code of ethics of non-partisanship of civil servants was no longer observed in the state.
According to Salaam, civil servants now freely express their feelings on politics on pages of newspapers and radio stations as if they are members of political parties.
The speaker said such attitude must stop, adding that any civil servant caught engaging in partisan politics would be dealt with in line with the civil service rules.
Salaam said that any civil servant who wished to join politics was free to do so after he or she might have resigned from the civil service.
He, however, called for a change of attitude by the civil servants for enhanced productivity in the state.
