Saraki donates pension to two UNILORIN students
SENATE President Bukola Saraki has donated his pension as a former Governor of Kwara State to two best graduating students for the 2014/2015 academic session of the Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin.
Under the aegis of Abubakar Bukola Saraki Pension Scholarship Scheme, (ABSPSS), Saraki while personally presenting cheques of N500, 000 each to the students, Mohammed Abdullahi Tosin from Irepodun Council Area (LGA) of Kwara and Adam Ndakuku from Edu Council Area of the state, said the award might be an endowment for life.
The ABSPSS would give priority to indigent but brilliant students who are citizens of the state. Saraki had made the scheme a part of his electioneering campaign as a Senator.
Saraki said at his Ile-Loke Ilorin residence, “my aim is to ensure that the fund is used as a form of social security to support existing state Scholarship Scheme.”
