Rotarian honoured with Paul Harris Fellow

The Rotary Club of Lekki Phase 1, District 9110 Nigeria, has celebrated the decoration of the Group Managing Director of Rocky Sporting Club (RSC), Elias J. Atrib, as an honorary member of the club and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.

The Rotary Club of Lekki Phase 1, District 9110 Nigeria, has celebrated the decoration of the Group Managing Director of Rocky Sporting Club (RSC), Elias J. Atrib, as an honorary member of the club and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.

This decoration is in appreciation of his commitment and support to the club, giving the club the venue for its weekly activities and events in the past five years for free and also donating a minimum sum of US$1000 to Rotary Foundation.

In his speech, Past District Governor, Adeniji Raji, reiterated the motto of Rotary, which is service above self, rendering acts of kindness and service to the less privileged, promoting understanding and creating an atmosphere of friendship and helpfulness to others.

“I ask each of you to look beyond yourself today and join us to bring hope to the underprivileged so that together we can show that Rotary cares for your community. I urge Atrib to make more contribution to the society in order to help the underprivileged because Rotary gives you the option to do more than what you can do individually,” he said.

In his response, Atrib thanked the club for the honour given to him and the privilege to give more to society. he said this will mark the beginning of a new journey for him as a Rotarian and also the start of a new level of friendship with the club.At the event, a total donation of US$1,920 and N269,500 was raised to support the club’s upcoming projects.
