There was an endless jubilation at the Plateau State University, Bokkos, as hundreds of students and staff trooped out to welcome the suspended Vice Chancellor, Prof, Danjuma Sheni, who was reinstated and resumed duty yesterday.

Immediately the vice chancellor assumed office he suspended payments to all contractors, suspended all employments carried out by his predecessor and asked all deans, heads of departments and coordinators, who were in offices as at September 30, 2014 prior to his suspension, to return to their offices with immediate effect.

Sheni also set up four committees to carry out an audit of the personnel of the university, the finances and contracts awarded, students affairs and security, adding that members of the committee would soon be inaugurated, while giving them seven days to submit their report.
Meanwhile, the National Directorate of Employment in the state has commenced the training of 120 youths in vocational skills acquisition under its Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme.

NDE Coordinator, Mr. Stephen Ndaks, who addressed the trainees at the orientation programme on Monday, said the aim was to empower the youths and reduce unemployment.
