Present crops of politicians can’t solve Nigeria’s problems, says cleric

A cleric, Bishop Seun Adeoye, has said that the present crops of Nigerian politicians cannot solve the nation’s myriad of problems, saying the country needs new crop of leaders with fresh ideas to salvage national challenges.

The leader of Sufficient Grace and Truth Ministry (SGTM), Rehoboth Arena, Okinni, Osun State, in a statement issued in Osogbo yesterday, chided the current politicians in the country and accused them of ruining the nation and putting its future in jeopardy.

He said: “Majority of these politicians are corrupt, greedy, myopic and incompetent. They lack the ability to turn this nation around. They seek power for their personal aggrandisement and not in the interest of all Nigerians. They are parasites that have eaten so deep into the nation’s wealth.

“These present politicians are nauseating odours that need to be thrown away completely. They are all collaborators with no exemption in the looting of this country. They are mere exhibitionists who deceive gullible Nigerians with fake achievements.

“To safe the ship of this country from wreckage and disintegration, I ask Nigerians to come together to sack these politicians. Yes, let us kick them out. I encourage young, vibrant and genuine patriots to come on board and take over Nigeria. We need fresh air in our political life.”

He regretted that the so-called human right activists and well-known crusaders of good governance have compromised, saying: “The one-time labour unions in my country have become “neighbour unions” to government in power”.

Bishop Adeoye advised President Muhammadu Buhari to shelve the idea of running for second term and use the remaining days in his first term in office focusing on his campaign promises.

His words: “Few months ago, I called on President Muhammadu Buhari not to seek re-election. I still stand on this. Even though many of his aides and party men are all out in a renew vigour about his re-election bid, Buhari should ignore them.
