THE Rivers State Police Command has paraded 18 suspects allegedly involved in kidnapping, armed robbery and cultism.

Also, six captives had been freed by the anti-kidnapping unit of the command.

The State Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo, while parading the suspects Tuesday in Port Harcourt, said the feat was recorded between September 8 and now.

Kimo disclosed that the anti-kidnapping unit arrested seven suspected kidnappers, killed eight and rescued six victims.

The police boss added that the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) nabbed six armed robbery suspects and killed three, adding that six suspected cultists were also arrested by the anti-cultism unit during the period under review.

He said nine different brands of cars, 110 arms and ammunition were recovered from the hoodlums.

The Police Commissioner, however, attributed the successes recorded to the cooperation from members of the public.

Kimo appealed for sustained assistance from Rivers people through prompt information to fight crime, assuring that the Force would make the state unfavourable for criminals and criminal activities.

“I want to use this opportunity to sound a note of warning to criminals to either relocate from Rivers State or turn a new leaf and become responsible citizens of the country,” he warned.
