Police arrest 10 suspected buglers in Benue government house

Not fewer than 10 suspected buglers were yesterday arrested by the police at the Benue Peoples House for burglary and stealing from offices and guest houses within the government house.

Not fewer than 10 suspected buglers were yesterday arrested by the police at the Benue Peoples House for burglary and stealing from offices and guest houses within the government house.

The Guardian learnt that one Lucky, a staff of the Government House who works in the maintenance unit led other members of his gang to perpetrate of the criminal act.

“They stole several appliances including televisions, car batteries and generator batteries,” the staff stated.

The staff, who pleaded anonymity, added that at the weekend, Lucky and his gang burgled the residence of the Chief Detail to Governor Samuel Ortom carting away over N75,000 and two cell phones belonging to the wife of the Chief Detail.

He said the burglars had pulled out the air conditioner and used an instrument to remove the woman’s bag and subsequently removed the said amount and her two phones.

Consequent to this security has been beefed up in and around the government house as vehicles were thoroughly checked on entrance and exit from there.
