THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State yesterday urged the Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, to as matter of justice and fairplay, make public the ongoing probe of the past administration in the state.

The party described as unacceptable the current “secret probe” of officials of the immediate past administration in the state, saying: “This would amount to witch-hunting its members using state organs, including security agents.”

The Deputy Chairman of PDP in the state, Tanko Beji Beji who spoke with journalists in Minna shortly after the party’s stakeholders’ meeting at the party secretariat, said that it is unfortunate that the present administration under the leadership of Abubakar Sani Bello is using secret probe committee to witch-hunt his predecessor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu and other officials of his government.

Beji, who noted that it is undemocratic for the governor to embark on a secret probe of his predecessor, said: “There are procedures for investigation but not through secret committee. Nothing like hiding under anything, like a cult.

They are afraid, not us, and we are waiting for them to come into the open.”

The Deputy chairman maintained that the APC government at various levels in the country are busy complaining about the past administration and missing money instead of facing the reality on ground and embarking on meaningful projects to deliver on their campaign promises which they promised Nigerians.
