PDP accuses Niger gov of non-performance

abubakar-sani-bello1Insists on use of card reader for conduct of Nov council polls

With a few weeks to the 100 days of the present administration in Niger State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has carpeted the administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state over poor performance, saying that the Governor Abubakar Sani Bello administration has no noticeable achievement since inception.

The governor is yet to appoint commissioners, advisers and this, political watchers believe has grounded government activities in the state with the Governor ruling with the help of permanent secretaries and civil servants.

Deputy Chairman of PDP in the state, Mr. Tanko Beji, while briefing newsmen in Minna on yesterday stated that the inability of the APC government to put the necessary structures and make appointments for the take-off of the government is a clear indication that the APC was not prepared and ready for the task of governance.

In addition to this, Beji also said that opposition parties in the state will not accept the conduct of local government elections scheduled for November in the state without the use of card reader machines as was done in the last general elections.

When asked to assess the performance of the APC government so far, Beji said there is nothing on ground yet to show that the APC government had taken off in Niger State, adding, “there is nothing therefore to comment on, the government, by all implication is yet to take off.”
