Pastor Awards Scholarships To Children Of IDPs In Bauchi

Scholarship-1-1-8-15-CopyIN an effort to put smiles on the faces of some Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and less privileged children, Alpha and Omega Fire Ministry International in Tafawa Balewa Local Council of Bauchi State, has awarded 30 primary and secondary school pupils scholarships. Five other students were awarded scholarships to study law at any university of their choice in Nigeria.

Announcing the scholarship to the beneficiaries, General Overseer of Alpha and Omega Ministry Intentional, a.k.a City of Rest, Pastor Yakubu Samaila Bauchi said he is out to raise future leaders for Nigeria.

He said most of the beneficiaries were children of the less privileged, while some are orphans in the IDP centres in the area.

“I struggled to attend the level of education I have today. I don’t  like to see these children growing up to have the same experiences.

“I want to see these children becoming the future leaders of this country. Without education, how can they become good leaders? That is why I took it upon myself to do this,” Pastor Bauchi said.

He explained that the benefits for raising up such young children to become leaders of tomorrow can not be quantified in monetary or material terms.

“The good things you do to others would be rewarded by God. Your blessing is meant to bless others,” he said.

Bauchi said that plans are at advanced stage for the Ministry to establish primary/nursery boarding schools to cater for the less privileged in the state. Indigent women are to enjoy free empowerment programme. He explained that God has called him to assist the people of Tafawa-Balewa community which is being bedeviled by security challenges.

He said in Tafawa-Balewa where his Ministry is located, that his decision to become a pastor was as a result of a spiritual calling from God. He finally accepted it in good faith and started his ministry in Jos, before he relocated to Tafawa-Balewa Local Council of Bauchi.

Guest speaker at the occasion, Bishop (Dr) Charles Yohanna, General Overseer, Faith Revival Ministry, Bauchi, said God had raised Bauchi to change the people of Tafawa-Balewa and the world for the better.

He said Pastor Bauchi will be a solution to those looking for healing of different illnesses.

“Especially the people who are suffering various intimidation, harassment and persecution in their stand for Christ as their personal saviour.
