EXCESSIVE deployment of money in politics by many political actors is a major drawback in the Nigerian political development, former governorship aspirant on the platform of Social Democratic Mega Party (SDMP) in Kogi State, Alhaji Lawal Itokpa Lamidi has said.

Lamidi spoke in Lokoja at the weekend during the launch of a book he authored titled “Commonsensical Management System Solution.”
According to the SDMP chief, the influence of money in the country’s politics can only breed visionlessness, dishonest and unrighteous leaders who would not be able to effect positive changes in the lives of the people.

Just like the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan, he also advocated for a single six-year tenure for senators, governors and the president.

The former governorship aspirant decried a situation where every election year huge sums of money was squandered to the detriment of provision of basic social amenities for the citizenry.
