CorruptionTHE governorship candidate of Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) in the last governorship election in Ogun State, Mr. Olatunde Rotimi Paseda has applauded the British Government over the establishment of International Corruption Unit (ICU) to investigate corrupt cases related to Nigeria.

Paseda noted that the move by the British Government would further assist the Federal Government to recover the nation’s alleged stolen funds overseas.

He added that the ICU should beam its searchlight beyond recovery of looted Nigeria’s funds, but to also partner with the Federal Government to investigate corrupt politicians and public office holders living in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

Paseda also demanded that politicians contesting the 2019 general elections in the country should be adequately investigated and screened by the UK’s ICU team, irrespective of their location, personality and businesses, stressing that the findings should form the yardstick for qualifying to contest the 2019 general elections.

He said the process would further weed out corrupt politicians from the polity and strengthen the democratic system of government.
