The Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr Abdulwasii Musah, on Monday advised members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to be peaceful and law abiding in their conduct.

Musah gave the advice during the inauguration of new executives for the NURTW branches in Saki West Local Government Area of the state.

“ I honoured your invitation to be here because I have heard of how peaceful you are and I can only advise you to remain peaceful and law abiding in your conduct and dealings.

“Our governor, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, has done so much to sustain peace in your union at the state branch and the result is obvious for everyone to see.

“Before now, the state was known for crisis between and among transports unions, but all that is history now; I’m particularly happy that you are also peaceful.

“ What I wish to add is that, apart from being peaceful, it is also very important for your union to remit revenue that is due to the government promptly,” he said.

Earlier, the Chairman, Saki West NURTW, Mr Quseem Iwo, had reaffirmed the commitment of his members to sustaining the peace and obeying the law.
