Opposition parties urge electorate to dump APC, PDP in 2019

Three opposition parties have asked the electorate to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 elections.

The parties are the Providence People’s Congress (PPC), the National Conscience Party (NCP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Speaking on the state of the nation, the National Legal Adviser of the PPC, Mr. Richard Kelani, said the APC has failed to do anything different in the last three years.

He also asked the people to discard the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which, he said, had ruined the country in the 16 years that it was in power.
Kelani said it would amount to mortgaging the destiny of the country, if the APC or PDP is allowed to continue in power.

According to him, it has become obvious that the two major political parties have no vision for the people.
   
The PPC condemned the economic policy and the anti-graft war of President Muhammadu Buhari. Kelani said: “The government is only mouthing anti-corruption war, while graft is sitting and dinning with it.”
  
He called on Nigerians to seek an alternative in the PPC, which would build an egalitarian society, if elected. He added that the party’s “programme will leave no one behind.”
  
Also, the Chairman of the National Conscience Party (NCP), Dr. Yunusa Tanko blamed the challenges facing the country on the electorate.

According to him: “Until the electorate takes their destiny in their hands by voting right and defending their votes, the shenanigans perpetrated by the handlers of the two major political parties in the country would continue.

“If Nigeria must become a better nation, the electorate must be determined to stop the APC and the PDP from manipulating the system.”
  
For the National Chairman of the ADC, Ralph Okey Nwosu, Nigerians should start searching for other credible parties with vision, as the country begins the preparation for the next general elections.
  
Similarly, the Senator representing Lagos East, Mr. Gbenga Ashafa, urged Nigerians to challenge the government in a constructive manner on the need to improve.

Ashafa, who is a member of the APC, said it is the collective responsibility of the citizens, to effectively and constructively engage the government.
 
Meanwhile Senator Buruji Kashamu, who represents Ogun on the platform of the PDP, has asked Nigerians to be hopeful of a better 2018.
 
In a statement yesterday, Kashamu said without hope, there would be no today, alone tomorrow and the future.
