The son of ex-Ondo State Governor, Mr. Muyiwa Olumilua, has scored the Ekiti State government low in agriculture and youth empowerment.Olumilua, who disclosed this in Ado Ekiti yesterday, said he expected the state to have made impact in rice production like Kebbi, Ogun and Lagos States.

According to him, Ekiti has a comparative advantage in agriculture due to its favourable climatic and soil condition. He said: “The largest employer of labour in Ekiti is agriculture, adding that not much has been done in the area.Israel is a desert, but it exports food items even to Nigeria.”

Olumilua said Ekiti has one of the best climates in the world, which if properly harnessed could feed Africa. He promised to bridge the gender gap by giving 40 per cent of appointments to women, so that they could exhibit their potential.

While commending President Muhammadu Buhari on the anti-corruption war, he urged the APC government to be more proactive to ensure that looters are prosecuted and jailed.According to him, it is only when one “sacred cow is jailed that others would sit right.”
