FORMER National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Olusola Oke has applauded President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of the party for the efforts made to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

In a statement issued to journalists yesterday in Akure, he noted that “the recent resolution of the leadership tussle in the National Assembly and the appointment of Brigadier General Paul Boro, the new Chairman of the Amnesty Programme of the federal government are two events that signify victory for democracy and commitment to national development.”

According to him: “President Buhari has demonstrated leadership and respect for the freedom of the legislators to elect their leaders and in the same vein, permit the supremacy of party decision to tower over and above individual interest.”

The PDP gubernatorial candidate in Ondo State 2012 election remarked that it is a laudable development for the nation, saying “it shows that Mr President is committed to the growth of democracy and constitutionality, development of culture of democracy and building of culture of party discipline from leadership to followership.”
