Ogun Police arrest human traffickers with 26 underage kids

Men of Ogun State Police Command yesterday paraded three suspected human traffickers with 26 children between the ages of eight and ten years. The suspects and the victims were paraded at the state Police command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

The Police Commissioner, Abdulmajid Ali, who paraded the suspects told journalists that the suspects were arrested at a motor park at Ibafo, in Obafemi-Owode Local Council of the state while planning to take the children to Lagos to, apparently serve as domestic servants.

He said the three suspects, Zainab Ahmad, 18, Aisha Abdullahi, 55, and Zuliat Abdulmalik, 45 reportedly took the underage children comprising 25 girls and one boy from Kano. “Based on our usual stakeholders meeting and proactive measures put in place by Nigeria Police, our attention was called yesterday that some groups of underage were seen at a motor park at Ibafo area.

The security agents were called immediately, our team raced there and got the suspects arrested. Their mission in Lagos, according to the suspects, is to take them (children) to do some menial jobs.
