Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is leading prominent Egba Chiefs to rally massive support for the 10th Coronation Anniversary of the Egba Monarch, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.

Though the anniversary comes up in November, preparations towards the event have begun in earnest as the Egbas see the event as a special one among the past celebrated ones.

Obasanjo told journalists in Abeokuta, yesterday that the four-day event is seen as a “landmark” because Oba Gbadebo’s reign has witnessed an enviable progress in the history of the Egbaland.

Obasanjo spoke when members of the ten-member organising committee paid homage to him at his Hilltop, Abeokuta residence to brief him on preparations so far made towards the epoch making event.

The Committee Chairman and former Governor of Bauchi State, Capt. Rasheed Raji stated that the event which would hold between Monday, November 16 and Friday, November 19 would witness conferment of chieftaincy titles on some eminent Nigerians at the grand finale on Friday, November 19.

Among the Committee members who called on Obasanjo was the Iyalode (Women Leader) of Yorubaland, Chief Alaba Lawson who is the Chairperson of the Governing Council of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta.
