NYSC-Seminar-CopyNATIONAL Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members under the umbrella of Social Welfare Community Development Group in Oshodi/Isolo Local Council of Lagos, on Monday visited Rosyland Senior Secondary School in Mafoluku Oshodi, Lagos to enlighten the students on social issues such as cultism, sexual and reproductive health , career planning , drug abuse and attitudinal change.

The event also doubled as the school’s valedictory service. The exercise was borne out of the need to curb social vices in the society through active involvement of the younger generation.

The NYSC members counseled the students on various steps to take in choosing a career. How to rediscover themselves, their strengths, values, personality and skills. They were also sensitized on drug abuse which has greatly hindered the development of the younger generation in Nigeria today.

The NYSC members urged the students to be obedient and to abstain from any of these act in order for them to become future leaders.

The Proprietress of the school, Roseline Alisiobi thanked the NYSC members for identifying the numerous problems facing the Nigerian society and for deeming it fit to visit her school for the enlightenment exercise.

‘’ The Nigerian society is fast becoming a society full of socially unacceptable behaviours, and the youths are mostly affected by such issues because of their vulnerability. I thank you for bringing such an opportunity to my school,’’ she said.
