NNPC saboteurs trigger fuel scarcity, says IPMAN

Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), yesterday, hinged the persistent fuel scarcity in the country on the nefarious activities of saboteurs in Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Chairman of IPMAN in Kano, Alh. Bashir Dan-Mallam in a chart with The Guardian said the incessant scarcity of the products may continue to ground commercial and socio-economic activities of the nation if the activities of the saboteurs are not nipped in the bud.

The perennial fuel shortage in the last two months continue to worsen in major cities of the Federation with Nigerians spending productive man-hours on queues where the product exists.

Dan-Mallam, who insisted that the treacherous cabal in NNPC are bent to resist government reforms, added that unless the elements are identifies and flushed out of the system, challenges in the oil sector may degenerate.

The IPMAN chairman who chided the delay in supply of the product to Independent marketers alleged lopsided allocation of fuel to major marketers.

He also blamed the frequent allocation to Federal Capital Territory and Lagos, despite concentration of business activities in the north.
