The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cancelled election in Southern Ijaw LGA in the Bayelsa governorship poll, citing large scale electoral malpractices such as intimidation of electoral officers, ballot box snatching, and violence. A new date is expected to be announced soon. Results from seven other local councils in the state have been announced.
