LAGOS State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode received a massive boost to his campaign recently with a unanimous endorsement from the Epe Council of Obas.

The endorsement came during a meeting of Ambode with the Obas at the Palace of the Alara of Ilara, His Royal Majesty, Oba Akeem Okunola Adesanya.

At the event which had the full panoply of a royal endorsement, the Obas were joined by the political leaders in Epe to express joy and fulfillment at the candidature of the one they described as a worthy son who is set to take Epe and the entire state to a whole new level of excellent governance.

The development came as Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose called on Nigerians especially Northern leaders to save APC’s presidential candidate, Major-General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd), from its leaders.

Fayose said he was worried that former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed “Tinubu and his cabal were pushing Buhari too much because of their selfish interests.”  He pleaded that “Nigerians should appeal to Tinubu and his cabal to allow Buhari attend properly to his health.”

The people of Epe, who were also at the palace, contributed to the success of the event by echoing their support through songs, commending the man they repeatedly hailed as the “incoming governor.”

An elder statesman, retired Supreme Court Judge, and a foremost leader in Epe, Justice Adesola Oguntade, stated that Ambode has long been singled out for excellence from the entire crop of Lagos state gubernatorial aspirants, largely because of his competent and benevolent antecedents.

The visibly proud Oba Adesanya, led the other sixteen royal fathers to bestow blessings on the APC gubernatorial candidate. The prayers rites continued for almost an hour, and it depicted the depth of faith and confidence the Royal fathers have in Ambode’s leadership capabilities.

Ambode himself was profuse in his expression of appreciation for the overwhelming show of support from the Obas and political leaders who he together described as “God-sent fathers.”

“I can say that I’ve been privileged to gather the needed experience to serve Epe and our state further, but I can’t do it alone. I thank you my Fathers so much for this overwhelming expression of support and prayers. I promise not to fail you, God helping me,” Ambode stated.

He further promised to continue and improve upon the development that the Epe division has experienced in the past 16 years.

Fayose, through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka said, “since last week Thursday, that Buhari appeared for less than two hours at the Chatham House where he said his doctors certified him fit and that he was returning to Nigeria for the ‘final onslaught on the PDP,’ he has simply disappeared from public glare.”

He went on: “Isn’t it strange that someone, who is contesting an election in 28 days time could afford to stay outside the country for going to two weeks?

“Buhari confessed that he actually saw his doctors. Why did the APC cabal lie that he never visited any hospital, even going to the ridiculous and criminal level of using pictures taken in Abuja to authenticate a claim that Buhari had a television interview in London?

“Like I have maintained, the same cabal that were involved in the Yar’Adua saga are also involved in the packaging of Buhari and Nigerians must save the man from these people, who are only interested in using him to assume power.”

While maintaining that Buhari was not the candidate of the north, Fayose asked, “shouldn’t it interest Nigerians, especially the northerners that only Malam Nasir El-Rufai was a northerner among those, who attended the last Thursday arrangee Chatham House event?

“During the APC primary, delegates from the North voted for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Governor Rabiu  Kwankwaso. Only delegates controlled by Tinubu, Governor Rotimi Amaechi and Senator

Bukola Saraki voted for Buhari.

“In appreciation of Tinubu’s role, Buhari gave him (Tinubu) the sole right to choose his running mate, with Tinubu still being rumoured to be interested in the Vice President position that he gave his surrogate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

“Also, the APC confirmed yesterday that Buhari’s campaign is being funded by Tinubu and Amaechi.

“All these point to the fact that Tinubu and his cabal have a sinister agenda against the North, which they want to use Buhari to achieve”.
