Pickpocket11The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa Command, on Thursday said it had arrested four teenagers who allegedly specialised in pick pocketing.

The NSCDC state Commandant, Mr Muhammad Gidado, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse.

Gidado said the suspects were arrested on Wednesday at NNPC mega station in Dutse, the state capital.

He said the suspects were arrested by his operatives while attempting to pickpocket a costumer who went to buy fuel at the station.

The commandant said the suspects confessed to be pick pocketing unsuspected Nigerians at various markets within the area.

According to him, some of the markets where the suspects claimed they had been operating include; Dutse new market, Larabar-Tambari, Gida-Dubu and Yalwawa quarters.

Gidado said the suspects’ parents were invited by the command for further interrogation and possible warning against the action of their children.

He said: “investigation into the matter is ongoing after which the suspects will be charged to juvenile court”.
