THE management of the Home Science Association Secondary School, (HSASS), Alakuko, Lagos, would from January 29 begin the celebration of its 25th anniversary. 

  According to the President of the school, Mrs. Folasade Bakare, the school, which started on Monday, January 29, 1990, with the Nursery and Primary school, Ikoyi, later moved to its permanent site on October 11, 1993.

  Bakare said some of the achievements of the school, include; examination malpractice free school award by Lagos State government in 2006; 100 per cent at distinction and credit levels in all subjects taken at WAEC, SSCE levels for four consecutive years; excellent performance in foreign examinations; adjudged by the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), as one of the leading private secondary schools in Nigeria in 2004; adjudged one of the 100 schools in Nigeria offering Information Communication Technology (ICT) in 2004; declared as the Centre of Sports Excellence by former Lagos State Commissioner for Sport, Prince Adeniji-Adele in 2010; and produced the second best student in recent National Chemistry Competition and others.

  On activities earmarked for the celebration are publicity rally, students’ varieties on Wednesday and a luncheon on Thursday, January 29.
