The National President of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Mr Bolarinde Patunola-Ajayi has called on the Federal and State governments to massively invest in Real Estate and infrastructure to kick start the country’s economy.

Patunola-Ajayi who spoke at a Press Conference on Tuesday in Ibadan, Oyo State capital to herald the 48 annual conference of the institution holding at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan (UI) said with the relative stability in the economy, a concerted effort must be geared towards developing the infrastructure which he said will attract foreign investors and tourists to the country.

Speaking on the theme of the conference titled: “Real Estate and infrastructure as drivers of national development” he noted that many people in the world travel to Dubai because the government of that country developed their real estate and infrastructure.

He said developing the sector will not only assure Nigeria of economic prosperity but will create jobs for millions of artisans and professionals.

The president of the Institution also pleaded with the government at all levels to provide accommodation for their members of staff in order to reduce housing shortage in Nigeria.

Patunola-Ajayi who bemoaned the menace of quackery urged all Nigerians to stop taking risk of patronizing them.
